Crazy, snowy cab affair...

So I'm running late to work this evening... I figured with the snow
and all it be a swell idea to take a cab. Little did I know that I
would end witnessing the most absurd of things: my cab driver hurling
a drink after being cut off by a Land Rover. Did I mention that this
was the same Land Rover that almost ran me over while trying to hail
this cab?!

Well he pulled up very quickly, blindly ad obnoxiously.

So trailing behind us and readily trying to get I'm front, this Rover
pulls up to our left and attempted to squeeze in front of us before he
came to a line of parked vehicles on 5th and 96th.

Hardly a block down the avenue and this nonsense occurs.

The police was involved since there was a road closure on 96th.

All this drama in less than a block... Ugh...

niege/snow/nieve

There is love for the snow everywhere in NY. From indoors:

and outside:

... or even in the hood:

Je t'aime mon lapin.

Epitome of the Art Deco influence on NYC's edifices and skyline.

:(

so... I'm finishing up with Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "100 days of solitude." I won't find out what the remaining 30 pages are until I:

a: get a hold of the MTA and find out if they found the copy that I accidentally left behind on a 330am manhattan-bound 4 train

or

b: buy a new copy.

I really hope the MTA finds my copy. I had an amazing bookmark too. The book now holds great sentimental value or me. Not to mention it was in a black plastic bag along with a bunch of other books (including Eli Wiesel's 'Night' and Tennessee Williams' 'Glass Menagerie'). Sigh...

Woop, there it is (again)!

It all becomes clear now. Who is Peru Ana Ana Peru ? So thank you google for leading me to some answers. Pity the answers are just as ambiguous and vague as the graffiti itself. But there's a myspace, supposedly for some sort of film? project. Um doubtful, but some of the defacement that I've previously encountered during my own ventures. There was an article on Gawker, which gave an inkling as to who these people are. They're from Bushwick (my neck of the woods) and supposedly a male/female duo. It's a start. There was a blog post from roughly 3 years ago wondering about the appearances of this wordplay: awkward. There was a really strange video in which their name makes an appearance. Related? Perhaps.

Perhaps I will hunt them down. Perhaps I will get to the bottom of this. Will my query will be answered.

2 ave deli

What a fun little deli. The 2nd ave deli in midtown caters not just to your digestive needs, but apparently to aesthetics too.

Swimming in a pool of dressing. AHHH!!!

Kakaw, kakaw!!!!

What a gastronomic riot :)

Lavender

I found a lavender toilet in a dumpster in midtown. Hm... I wonder why someone would dispose of such a 'classy' looking toilet bowl.... lol

Unexpected

I was in the Lower East Side yesterday and what had caught my eyes was the graffiti on this plywood barricade. "Your upraised hands hold nothing up."

I noticed this only after taking the photo and walking away. "There it is again!!! Peru Ana Ana Peru!!!
